fave picks for winter: the ankle boot

If you need some help with keeping those lil tootsies warm this winter then look no further than the ankle boot; a fashion forward look that will take you from uni hang outs, to dinner dates and here there an everywhere!

Here is a lil inspiration to help you get your head around how to sport this easy and fashionable style:

"The suede ankle boot adds just that little hint of edge and class to any outfit. The texture gives your look a sense of real sophistication".

fave picks for winter: the sweater

Tis the season to get cosy and comfy and all knitted up. The sweater trend is all about seeing knitwear in a whole new light.

4 ways to get the look:

1. Clash your prints; don't be granny shy now.

2. Team your knits for the evening. Think argyle with sequins; cashmere and brocade. The more you texturise the better.

3.  A retro style knit will never go astray. The Mad Men girl meets retro from the 2010 catwalk shows will help you get your style on with this one.

4. Layer larger cable knits on cable knits; you will know what I mean when you take a peak at D&G and how they did it.

trend spotting; mbfwa 2012 - fluro and prints

These are just some of the many trends that I happened to spot from the Lisa Ho show at MBFWA Spring Summer 2012/13. Sporting colours of navy, white, khaki, canary yellow (as featured), nude and emerald green, just to name a few.

As well as prints; punchy, cartoonish almost, with oversized Hawaiian blooms perking up chic blazers, cropped trousers, thigh-high shorts and gowns. There was much to love from her designs as well as a hint of Dolce & Gabbana creeping in there (if you remember the Dolce Spring Summer 2012 show with the fruit prints). A nice fresh, pungent start to the many prints that were seen this week.

Does this seem to ring any bells?

trend spotting; mbfwa 2012 - print on print

Designers show a blind eye to the famous colour-blocking trend of last year, sporting more geometric, tropical and floral prints, with a particular mention to prints upon prints. Don't be afraid to team a bundle of mish mashed designs. I am seeing a strong focus away from less is more to just role with it type of feel. Take a leaf out of Romance Was Born's fashion week collection.

winn lane up late; 3 may

This week in Brisbane I was invited to attend the Winn Lane Up Late. Being an avid fashionista and lover of all events of all shapes and sizes that come up in Brisbane, I definitely wanted to attend to check it out. Just to fill you in, on the first Thursday of every month, Winn Lane (Late) will be open till 8pm bringing to you a up late shopping experience teamed with music, BBQ and special offers. If you have never ventured to this part of the valley, don't let the alley way dishearten you.
